The contents of this directory are meant to be used by the
Freeciv modpack installer utility.

Look under ../contrib/ for packaged modpacks and other Freeciv add-ons.

Freeciv 2.3.x had a hardcoded modpack list URL of
http://download.gna.org/freeciv/modinst/2.3/modpack.list
of which a copy was once here; however, most 2.3 modpack material has
been moved to http://modpack.freeciv.org/2.3/

Freeciv 2.4 and later releases use URLs at https://modpack.freeciv.org/
by default, and don't use this copy (except for pre-release code, which
can use the "test" and "dev" versions -- but these are only
occasionally updated to be compatible with the latest code in git).
