In configure, by default try Xaw3d before plain Xaw.  This may
reduce cases of Xaw segfault problem on systems with Xaw3d.
The change only applies if the system doesn't have GTK+ (of a
recent enough version) and where the user doesn't specify
--with-xaw or --with-xaw3d explicitly.
