Backport: Clean up get_invention(). Specify that it can be called only with real techs or A_FUTURE. Make update_research() mark A_FUTURE as TECH_REACHABLE when a player cannot research any other tech. Patch by me in PR#13366. Assertion is not so much restrictive as it is in the HEAD branch - probably this won't cause any new bug. Suggestions by Jason.
